Introduction
Abstract
Flora of Hong Kong (Chinese Version), which is co-edited by the South China Botanical Garden and the Hong Kong Herbarium, will be published in four volumes. This Chinese version is compiled based on the Flora of Hong Kong but making references to the latest botanical literature and specimens kept in the Hong Kong Herbarium.The Flora describes the seed plants (Gymnosperms and Angiosperms) occurring in Hong Kong systematically.
Volume One
Volume One covers 10 families in Gymnosperms and 76 families of Magnoliopsida (Dicotyledons) in Angiosperms.It will be followed by Volumes Two and Three for the remaining Magnoliopsida and Volume Four which deals with Liliopsida (Monocotyledons).
The Flora provides additional terminology descriptions in some families with more botanical drawings and upgraded colour photographs with higher resolution. Besides including identification keys and information of the distribution, ecology, etc., scientific names of plant species are amended and new species as well as new distribution records are also added in this Flora.
