Introduction
Abstract
The 2012 edition of Check List of Hong Kong Plants was compiled on the basis of the Flora of Hong Kong and other relevant taxonomical information, and recorded 3329 plant species and varieties. The Flora of Hong Kong was compiled under the collaboration between the Hong Kong Herbarium and the South China Botanical Garden. The Flora has 4 Volumes and were published in 2007 to 2011. Besides the addition of new records and amendments, this edition also provides a reference list for tracing the scientific names recorded in the last edition but not in this one owing to new taxonomical findings or nomenclatural amendments. In addition, a section of colour plates displaying some examples of newly recorded plants has been included.
