Description: Evergreen shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets glabrous or nealy so. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-1.5 cm; leaf blade oblong lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, 6-12 cm long and 1.5-2.5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base attenuate, glabrous, 3-nerved. Plant monoecious; flowers unisexual, in axillary racemes. Staminate flowers: bracteoles 2, ovate, ca. 2 mm long; sepals 4, broadly ovate or elliptic, ca. 3 mm long; stamens 4, ca. 6 mm. Pistillate flowers: bracteoles many, ovate, ca. 1.5-3 mm; sepals 4-6, subovate. Capsules subglobose, ca. 8 mm in diam., red or red purple.
Distribution: Restricted to Mount Parker. Also in N Guangdong and S Hunan.
Habitat and Ecology: In ravines. Flowering: Autumn.
It is a rare species, previously known only from S Hunan and N Guangdong. It is recently recorded in Hong Kong and is thus of botanical interest. In Hong Kong, the species occurs in Country Parks under protection.
